Kieran is gowing and growing. He was six weeks friday, I cant believe how time flys. We are really getting to know little Kieran what he likes and doesn't. For some reason he doesn't like to be held, I always joke he was never the cuddley newborn I expected, from day one when I would hold him up he would just bobble his head around. He loves laying on our bed starring at the fan, laying in his crib with his toys, and being up looking around at all the new sounds and things he sees. This week he started smiling and recognizing us, I love it. We take walks together everyday, Kieran naps while I try to get back in shape. I love being a mother and being home with him everyday, he is such a joy.

Cousin Emily
My sister Kim and her Husband Todd, were in So. Cal for Todd's family reunion. They were able to come up on Sunday and spend the day with us. It was fun to see their 8 month old, Emily again, and Kieran got to meet his first cousin and Auntie and Uncle. We went for a nice walk on the beach, and had good Sunday dinner. It is fun to show them our new house and Emily enjoyed the yard. Thanks for making the drive up and back in a day, from San Diego.
Pictures we may have missed.
My sister Janice, who also posts asked more a few more pictures, here are some form the past week we may have missed. I realize that this may be picture over - kill, but we both live far away from our families and since both sides as far away as Thailand and South Africa check this regularly we wanted to fill them in. Also we are proud parents, so too bad.
Testing the new BBQ
On Saturday, I tested out my new grill. And it passed with flying colors. We had over Eli and Jolynne and Jolynnes parents the Pecks. We go to their house about once a month, now that we have a bigger place we thought we better return the favor. It was a good time. Kieran wore his, Mackenzie made, Lion onesie, because lions are carnivores, and we would be eating large amounts of meat,so we felt it only appropriate. It was fun, thanks Stricklands and Pecks for helping us build, the table and chairs you later ate on.
Lets go surfing now, everybody surfing now, come on.....
Saturday was officially Kieran's first trip to the beach. As you can see he was dressed for the occasion. Note his flip flops, they didn't last too long though, I think the middle strap hurt his toes. They were adorable for some pictures though. I think he likes the beach though. I am so happy that we live by the beach, we both love it and are excited that Kieran and maybe even our other kids will grow up near the ocean, and learn how to surf and boogie board etc. I wish he would stop growing so fast so he could wear his flip flops again. I guess they do come in bigger sizes though.
Double digits!
Last Friday was Kieran's 4 week appointment. He weighed in at a whopping 10 pounds 8 ounces, that's 3 pounds 2 ounces gained since he was born a month ago. He is getting so big and cuter and cuter everyday. He is so alert, it is fun to watch him look at objects and follow them. So far his favorite two things are to lay on our bed and watch the fan/light, and to stare at the blinds in our house, I think he likes the light and shadows. Just these last couple of days he has started making sounds, and not just whines, when gassy. He has started reaching for his mobile etc. We are so lucky , he is such a sweet little boy. He hardly ever crys, or fusses. And he sleeps really well at night. I hope by writing this I am not "jinxing" myself. I love taking him on walks in the day when Johnathan is working, and then we usually go again at night. It's so nice to play house everyday. I have been decorating his room. As many of you know we moved, after he was born, so I never had the chance to "get the nursery ready" so I am doing that now. This last weekend we found the best bookshelf ever and dresser for his room and we picked out the crib, just need to track it down. It is so fun decorating his room. I am working on a couple of paintings for his room right now.
We have our next appointment, in a month. We are not looking forward to that one as Kieran will get his first shot ever:( We love our doctor though and he has a special schedule that he does for his own kids(2 and 0). They are more spread out and combo's etc, so he said they shouldn't be too bad.
We were hoping to fly up to Utah to see my Family the last week of July, but the doctor said he wouldn't recommend this, as he would only be 6 weeks old and not have any vaccines etc. I was hoping to go up and see my brother Jeremy, who will be in town from Thailand and his Family. We had to cancel those plans unfortunately. So needless to say I'm not very popular right now.

20 of the 347
Just some pictures to catch you up on the happenings of our little man. He, unfortunatley is growing up so fast. He is a lot of Fun, we just wish he would stay tiny a little longer. Friday was his 3 week birthday. Our second Doctors appointment is on Friday, we'll see how big he is at one month. Enjoy the pictures:)
3 Hours at a time.
Any of you who have children realize that once your baby is born your life and especially the life of a Mother, is measured in increments of 2-3 hours. Mackenzie is such a wonderful Mother. I am yet to hear her complain when she has to wake up to feed Kieran at night. I love waking up and seeing her feeding him in the middle of the night. And not just because I'm the one that doesn't get up to feed him. Everynight she lays out his changing pad,at least 3-4 diapers, and a change of clothes, just in case, before going to bed. I am so lucky to have her as my wife and a mother to Kieran. She looks so great for just giving birth 3 weeks ago. Today was Kieran and Mackenzie's first Sunday back at church. He slept through it, everyone took a peek, and thought he was too cute.
Happy Birthday America
The 4th was fun, with a 3 week old we had to take it kind of easy we did go for a walk, a drive, a patriotic cookie. We had the innauguaral croquette match, on the front lawn and tried out the new BBQ. Great ribs, Corn and Hamburgers. I'm still trying to decide if the chore of cleaning the grill is worth the joy of grilling your own food. Yes it is, of course come over I'll bbq, for you anytime you want.Kieran looked very patriotic in his new Onesie, Mackenize made special for the day.
The only sad part of the day was looking down the street and being one of two flags flapping that day. Happy Birthday America.
Ouma and Oupa
As I said my Mom came into town to help us move, and help out with the baby. I found out she loves bathing her grand babies. When she bathed Kieran he would make a peep, somehow, when we tried this morning he screamed non stop from start to finish. A grandmothers touch I guess. My dad then came down for the long weekend as well. My parents are just like me, Mackenzie always laughs. We can't sit still. They are great helpers. My Dad built the BBQ, which I might add is no easy task.

My mom, re-upholstered an armchair we bought at a garage sale.

My mom is a great cook as well and we now have no excuse to eat out for at least 3 weeks. She made some of my favorites, meat Pies, and Shepard's pie, Lasagna etc. They are all in the freezer ready to go.
They really were a great help, helped put up the air conditioner, bathroom cabinet and even helped me pick out the correct fertilizer. Mackenzie is always amazed, at my family's sweet tooth, especially my mom's. So needless to say, we indulged on some of the best sweet treats the Southbay has to offer.
Thank you for coming down and for all the help. Most importantly thank you for coming down to see your new Grandson. Mackenzie and I are so glad we get along well with both sets of parents we can't wait till Kieran and our other Children are old enough to know and remember them, have vacations to there houses, etc. We both remember the fun times we had when we were children, with our Grandparents. And are excited to see our children go through the same thing. My Dad said it's a Grandparents right to push the stroller whenever they are around. Come back soon.

We can Park our cars!!!
Now to most of you that may be something that you really do take for granted. Think about it, imagine coming home every night and not being able to park. Yes sometimes we did get lucky, but we shared 4 parking spaces with about 20 cars. So most times it was a few laps around the block to find a spot then, walking anywhere from 100yards to 1/3 mile to your house. It always added on about 10 mins to every outing or errand. In our new house we have a garage, a long driveway and a nice piece of curb to park a car. The week before we moved we drove past our "new house", just to see how much time we would save, and how nice it would be to just pull into a driveway.
Also we now have a yard front and back, fully fenced in the back and a nice front patch for Croquette(I got a nice new set for Fathers Day, thanks Kieran). It is about 2-3 times bigger than our old place. Also we have a nice back patio/porch. I bought a BBQ, the day before the 4th of July. My Dad and I built it, well mostly my Dad,we tested it out on the 4th.
Kieran gets his own room too, although of course he is in our room for now. I also get an office. No more Kitchen/Dinning Room/Office. Time Warner hooked everything up and we are good to go.
The neighbors seem really nice and we are loving Redondo Beach. Its about a mile from our old place, but still really close to the beach. Closer to Costco, 24 hour Fitness, the Freeways, Amigo's Tacos and Golden Spoon what more could you ask for. It would be nice to own it but, yeah that ain't happening anytime soon.
I know I know-We've been busy.
Sorry we realize that for those of you that actually check our blog often we have been through a blogging drought. This post, will hopefully catch you up. We have had a really busy past week. After our appointment with our Ped. We came home I went back to work, and on my way back from Huntington Beach, picked my mom up from the airport in Long Beach. It was now her turn to meet her new Grandson, also she was going to help us pack up and move. We had to move the next day.
We were lucky enough to get a house in Redondo Beach, I'll post pictures later. Some friends in our Ward moved out and so they referred us to the Landlords, they called, met with us and then offered us the house. The only catch was we would have to move when our baby was two weeks old. So as you can imagine, that was a huge amount of stress.
And then not having the Internet made it impossible to post, and add new pictures. So these posts should make up for it.
