Happy Halloween

Mackenzie, Kieran and I just wanted to wish everyone a very Happy Halloween.

Something New

Kieran got a new toy this week which he really enjoys, and is spending a lot of time playing with it. He grabs at everything now. And then trys to put everything in his mouth. I take him shopping with me in the baby bjorn, since he hates being in his car seat and he trys to grab for everything I pick out. So I usually let him play with them, but he drops it and thinks its hilarious.
So I have to trim Kieran's nails every week or this happens to his face. He scratches his face all the time. He always seems to have little scratches on his nose. The other morning he woke up with this big one, I didn't get to it on time.
Kieran also discovered his feet a couple weeks ago and is always trying to chew on them. It was so funny I was walked back into the room, to discover this, he looked up at me like I had just caught him with his hand in the cookie jar. Little cutie.

4 MONTHS

Kieran is 4 months!! Yeah for the big boy. We went to the doctor today and he now weighs 15lbs 15oz and is 25 1/2 inches long. He had to get another shot :( but he did OK. He is smiling and laughing all the time now....thank you Zantac. And his little boy hairs are growing in on top so he is no longer a baldy. Good job Kieran you are growing so big.

It all started with Guy Fieri

Hands Down, my favorite channel has to be the Food Network, and perhaps the show I enjoy the most would have to be Diners, Drive-in's and Dives, Hosted by Guy Fieri, the 40 something year old guy. You know the one he is dressed up like a 13 year old skater dude on the Disney Channel(like someone is going a little over-board dressing him as "the young at heart skater type, California laid back guy, who likes to cruise around looking for good grub). Anyways the show is great he does find, the best family owned, one of a kind, down home good, cheap places to eat. A few weeks ago I watched an episode that featured a Diner in San Pedro(10 miles South of us). I really wanted to go try it out. It was fantastic, the line was kind of long but the Hostess took pity on us with a baby in the cool breeze and bumped us up to the front of the line. We both loved it. It was cheap and the food was great, we were in and out in 30 minutes and our food came in under 10 minutes. I know I should have taken a picture of what we ordered. I ordered the country breakfast, a huge biscuit the size of a spare tire, with sausage patties and gravy, on the side some cheesy eggs,and a mountain of there signature potatoes-wow, the chopped up kind that is mixed with some peppers and cooked on the griddle till they are crispy on the outside. I couldn't finish it which surprised even me, it was huge. Mackenzie ordered the French Toast which was more like a log cabin build out of french toast, held together by fresh whipped cream, then decorated with fruit.
Kieran was an angel he just sat in his car seat and flirted with all the waitresses. I highly recommend The Gaffey Street Diner, in San Pedro, just off the 110 S. Gaffey Street Exit. We both ate for under $15.00. Better yet, if you want to try it, we'll be more than happy to take you. I give this 3 forks.
Afterwards we headed down the coast to Huntington Beach to visit Eli, Joelynn and Caleb. We had a good time, we went to see the mini playhouses that custom builders built, to auction off for charity. These houses are amazing everything is to scale, they come complete with electricity, flat screens running water etc. Some really rich kids will be having some fun soon, they go for about 25K a piece.
While there at,Fashion Island mall we picked up one of Kieran's Halloween's costumes, that brings the total to 3 things so far. You'll have to wait and see though.

He loves to read-I wonder where that came from?

Kieran loves his books, obviously he doesn't know what they really are yet but he loves these moving pages with bright colors on them. He just stares so intently to what's going on as if he was reading them himself. Good thing he has a bookshelf full of exciting books, to read, play with and from which to rip pages from.

FINALLY

I know I know it has been a month and Kieran is growing and growing. He is no longer a cute little newborn he is a big boy and almost 4 months. He giggles on command now all the time and makes all kinds of noisesand sounds. Unfortunately he is starting to go bald but we'll keep him.
To recap to month.....
We went to Boise the first part of September,he got to see his cousins again. Johnathan had to go for work so Kieran and I tagged along to see the family.
Kieran had a cold for the entire month, and after having some tantrums and spitting up a lot we found out that he has acid reflux and is now on infants zantac twice a day. (which is helping a lot, poor little guy he was really miserable for a while)
Kieran also decided he only likes to nap for 30 mins(yes I've tried several techniques, they don't work) and is awake, smiling and ready to play.....needless to say I am not smiling and happy after just a 30 min break. He can't keep his hands out of his mouth,he went from sucking his thumb to sucking both of them at the same time to now gnawing on his fists, and drooling all over himself.
Kieran had his first real babysitter, his Aunties watched him at 6 weeks,this one was a non family member paid occasion.He also had his first sleepover, well for a few hours. Johnathan and I had a dinner in LA,the rep we went with has a son Donovan the same age, so the two spent the evening together with the nanny and our babysitter.
Kieran met his new friend Caleb from Huntington Beach, they had a lot of fun together. Caleb is Eli and Jolynne's baby boy, born on Aug 30th. Eli was Johnathan's roommate from Hawaii and they have stayed good friends. Caleb thought Kieran was so cute he wanted to take a bite of him.
The weather has been hot , too hot and I can't wait for it to start cooling down a little bit. We have been having a good time here, Johnathan is doing well with his job, and seems to be enjoying it. He says its a little more stressful now and teh traveling gets old, but that goes with the territory. Kieran keeps me occupied all day. He's quite a handful, but I love him to pieces, and love being a mom. Sometimes, I still can't believe that I am a mother and that perfect little baby is all mine. He is learning and growing everyday. I love watching him grow, develop and start doing new things, and being there for him. He gives me a huge grin every time I look at him and it is the cutest little smile I have ever seen. Johnathan and I love the mornings the most, right after he wakes up he giggles and jabbers non-stop. We play with him in the bed, he loves his songs, when we play with his piggies(fat toes) and "shooting to the moon".
