Half Way There

Before we get behind with Christmas blogs, we better not let Kieran's 6 mo. mark go "unblogged". He had his 6 month check up. He is a healthy happy little baby. He now weighs 18 lbs, although I swear he feels heavier after carrying him for a while. He is 27 in long. He choked down his last dTap "drink" shot, and had one in his bum, he's getting pretty tough, screamed for 10 seconds, a few shivers and then he was fine.
He know can sit up all on his own, his balance has got really good over the past few weeks. no more pillows but he has taken a few nose dives into the carpet, hasn't quite figured out to stop the fall with his arms. He loves his jumper, and jabbers away every time he is jumping. He loves music, I guess every kid does but he giggles and babbles when it's playing and we dance around while holding him.
About 10 days ago he had a really rough night, followed by a day of being not so happy,we thought he may be teething, and yup his two bottom teeth showed up. The Dr, said that one more on the top is about ready to pop through, needless to say he is gnawing on everything.
His eating is going really well he, has moved onto fruits. He has three solid meals a day, likes everything, except for peas. He made some really funny faces, that of course encouraged us to keep giving him more even though he kept spitting it out. His favorites would have to be peaches, squash, green beans and pears.
We are excited for his first Christmas even though he has no idea what is going on.
We are headed to Boise tomorrow through Las Vegas and Utah, we'll see how he does. We will have to take lots of breaks I am sure. Hopefully the roads are good, or else we will be returning and having Christmas at Home.
For those reading this who are far away, the weather has been "crazy" lately. Especially in the Mid-West, it Snowed in Vegas, first time in 30 years. It snowed in Malibu, yes as in Malibu on the beach and in Orange County. California has had record lows. What happened to Global Warming? That's right we are calling it climate change now.

MANHATTAN BEACH FIREWORKS

We had a really fun weekend, lots going on with shopping and getting ready for Christmas. Our friends the Russell's(who are expecting their first child, a baby girl in a few months)invited us over to there house for dessert and to go with them and some other friends to see the annual Manhattan Beach fireworks. We had the best homemade Cinnamon rolls and hot chocolate, good job Adrienne. They live really close to the strand, so we were able to just walk down the hill and across the beach. It was great, Kieran loved all the lights. It is really cool they launch them off the Pier, so you can see them all.An impressive display for a small community firework display. I think they must figure out how much they have left in the city budget and purchase fireworks with it, well worth the money if you ask me.
Eric took some really cool pictures for us. Thank you, we expect an invite next year.

THE CRECHE

Sunday our friends the Pecks and the Sticklands invited us to take part in their tradition of going to the creche to see all the beautiful nativities from all over the world from penguins to ones made out of beads from South Africa. They were amazing to see and they had pretty music playing the the background. They also have kids activities down the hall and you can even dress up and recreate your own nativity. This was fun and brought back memories of growing up. As a child our family always acted out the nativity scene on Christmas Eve and now with the grandkids we are starting to do it again. Scarlett (Kieran's cousin) is excited for Kieran to be baby Jesus. Back to the cheche.....Johnathan and I dressed as Mary and Joseph and little Kieran baby Jesus. Thanks Pecks and Stricklands for taking us we had a great time and we love spending time with you.

Kierans First Christmas

Obviously he'll have lots of firsts, as he is a new baby. This is his first Christmas and very first Christmas tree. We aren't going to be at home this year for Christmas, but still wanted to get a tree. I'll tell you who is making a killing this year is the Christmas tree guys. 12.00 a foot. We both really liked this Noble, it wasn't too full. Kieran loves to sit and watch the lights, and grad at the ornaments, and branches. His little personality is starting to show, he loves smiling at strangers and also sticking out his tongue at random people. He's making a lot more different noises and almost growling, now to when he's having a good time. He is growing up too fast, everyone says that right. I love his hair it is getting so thick and sticks straight up in the air.
