Well today Kieran is two weeks old, so we took him in for his two week check up at the doctor. We thought he looked a little bigger, but Kieran gained 1 lb 6 oz he now weighs 8lbs 12oz he is growing like a weed I can't believe it. I love how tiny he is and he is growing sooo fast. The Doctor said he is doing just great. He is happy, and only gets "fussy" for a couple of hours a day, usually around 6-7pm. Dr Efron said we could let him sleep, as long as we want at night. He said he is gaining weight well so just let him sleep till he wakes up. So far the longest stretch is only about 4 hours. Everything is still going well Kieran is such a little cutie everyday he makes me smile. The other day I took him for a walk in the peanut shell which he loves, he always falls asleep in no time at all. I looked in to check on him and he had his thumb in his mouth sucking in it. Might be a thumb sucker like his mommy. He is so inqusitive, he never just rests his little head he is always looking around to see whats going on. Its really cute I can't wait till he looks at Johnathan and I, recognizes us and smiles. I hear thats the best when your baby smiles back at you. Now he only smiles when he is pooping or passing gas.

Help me Rhonda, help help me Rhonda.
Kieran had to say goodbye to his Grandma, and we did too. Who's going to hold him and rock him too sleep? Grandma Rhonda, was sad to say goodbye to her new cute little grandbaby. We enjoyed having her and she was a great help to us. Kieran misses her too. Mackenzie's Mom really loves California, so I am sure we will see her down here often enough. He is still to meet his Grandpa Beck.

Maxin' and Relaxin'

Tomorrow Kieran will be one week old. This week has gone by fast and I wish he would stay small forever. We just cant get enough of him, he is the cutest little newborn I have ever seen(I know everyone thinks theirs is the cutest but ours really is). Its amazing how instantly you fall in love with such a precious little person and you cant imagine life without them. I can't stop staring at him in awe that we created him, and that he is ours forever. For some reason people think he looks like me but he looks just like his daddy, we compared baby pictures(I wasnt that cute). He has been a dream so far he sleeps all night except to eat and plays a little in the day but is mostly a sleepy head. He even doesn't mind his diaper changed. Last night he chilled on the bed so we were able to do a little photo shoot.

So far so good.
The first night was, intense. Kieran would sleep for an hour then up for two, sleep for one, up for two repeat 5 times. We found out he is a sucker. When he is up he wants to be sucking on sonething, whether it be a nipple, a dummy(pacifier) a finger, blanket, shirt and he even discovered his hand and middle two fingers. When he is hungry it is really funny and cute, he moves his head around, like he is drowning and sucking for air. He makes a grunting sound till he finds his target usually with his nose first and then makes a sharp jab at Mackenzie's breast then starts sucking like he has been starved for days. He rests his little hand on Mackenzie's chest and he is content for about 30-40 minutes. He likes to eat just like his daddy.
Mackenzie's mom, Rhonda arrived yesterday she will be in town for about 10 days. She fell in love with her new grandson immediatley and is helping out a lot. She is great at holding him and putting him to sleep. And comes in handy early in the morning.
I started back at work today, and have to admit I really missed him. I couldn't wait to come home and hold him. When I came home I found him laying on the bed in the boppy pillow, in just his Diaper and his gloves. He was awake and just staring up at the window. I layed down next to him and played with his little feet. I will really miss him when I have to travel every now and then. Mackenzie and I decided she would have to come with me to Utah and Idaho most of the time. That way he can see his Grandparents and his Cousin more often.

Home sweet home
Yay we got to come home today, we will definetly miss the help of the Nursery though at 11pm at night. Grandma Beck arrives tomorrow night and she will be a huge help for sure. Tonight will be the first night alone with him, yes the dreaded first night that everyone refers too. I'm sure we will do fine. He looked like a little doll in his car seat leaving the hospital, he slept the whole way home in the car. Mackenzie is feeding him now and then we are all going to take a nap. I nice long nap.
The hospital was great we were really impressed with all the helpful staff, and nurses etc. We also got to see Adam Sandler outside our room when we were getting ready to leave, his wife must have just delivered too. I didn't think it appropriate to ask for a picture just then.

Update on Kieran Heath Brandon
Kieran is doing just fine. No more need for IV, or any concern. He is eating well, crying, sleeping and is very alert and cute as can be. We have such a wonderful Pediatrician, Dr Efron, and our Ob Dr Morse was fantastic as well. I will upload a picture of her holding him.
Some pictures for you.
Some pictures for you.
Kieran is Here.
Not only was Mackenzie right on the Day, but she was exactly right on the Weight and just a half in. off on the lenght. He was 7.06 oz, 20.5 inches.
Kieran was Born at 13:33 Friday the 13th. He is really cute has a full head of long light brown blonde hair(not sure where that came from). He obviously a little worn out from the labor too. We will take more pictures today, so you can get an update.
Mackenzie is doing well as well, she is really tired and worn out. We were up all night on Thursday while in labor then labor all Friday, then she did a fantastic job pushing him out. Right now Kieran has an IV, for antibiotics. When she delivered she had a high fever temperature, so while the Kieran and Mackenzie's Blood tests are being cultured-He, just to be safe, if he does is on antibiotics. If Mackenzie has an infection it's easier obviously for an adult to treat than a 7 pound baby.
We are excited and also nervous about now officially being parents, Mackenzie is already a wonderful Mother and we just love him to bits.

Something.
Well somehow Mackenzie guessed the correct day that she would deliver on. We are just waiting to see how close she came to the weight and length
We went to the gym last night to exercise and Mackenzie to walk and after about, 40 Min's she said she didn't feel good. So we left went to get something to eat Chipotle, a Brandon Family staple. Then at about 8pm Mackenzie said she felt some cramping, and she wanted to go for a walk, cause it felt better when she walked around. So we headed up to Target and Blockbuster to change our Movie, and well we were just headed to Blockbuster, but Mackenzie had to use the facilities before and after the movie store. Target always comes in handy. By the time we got back home at about 9:30 pm Mackenzie was still having the cramps and said she may have felt a contraction or two. We started timing them they were about 20 seconds long and 5 minutes apart. She said they weren't to bad though. We tried to go to sleep just in case we would have to get up to go to the Hospital early in the morning. That didn't last long however, after like 2 hours of timing, and Mackenzie bending over while she contracted, we were out of bed and watching the food network. I asked Mackenzie if she wanted to go in to the hospital, because they were long and regular, but she didn't think she was in active labor as they weren't that painful at all. Once they got to 3 minutes apart for about 40 seconds I said we better get up there. So we came in and they inspected her and said yes she was in active labor, and that she was already dilated 5 Cm's.
So we have been here for 7 hours now and Mackenzie is about to start pushing, at about 12pm, she is 10 Cm's but the doctor wants to let the baby come down more, before we start pushing to conserve energy, and since she got an epidural a few hours ago she is not in any pain. We are excited and of course nervous, we'll hopefully have him out in a couple of hours. And yes lots of pictures.

Nothing.
All my meetings and travels are over till the last week of the month, so now would be a perfect time for K.... ..... Brandon, to come. Sorry 8 people are out of the contest if we go by date, but still may win a booby prize for guessing the correct weight. Only 1 week left, Mackenzie is hanging in there but is extremely uncomfortable now, he's getting big and is taking up all the space. Yes we do know that babies may come late too, and it being your first baby has nothing to do with it, apparently that's a myth.(confirmed by about 135 + Ob's). What is amazing is how they can measure the embryo in the beginning and guess when the baby will arrive within a few days. This is the way they figured out Mackenzie's due date, since other information was not available. So check back soon hopefully there will be some updates and Pictures.
