First Shots!

Yesterday we took Kieran for his 2 month check up and he had to get his first shots. I was excited to see how big he had gotten but nervous about his shots. We found out little kieran isn't so little anymore, he is a wopping 13 lbs 4 ozs and is 23 1/4 inches long. I can't believe how much he has grown in just 2 months he has literally almost doubled in size. I had to pack away the newborn items :( and bring out the 3 month clothes. The shots weren't too bad, I felt bad though we had woke him from his nap and them gave him a shot, he screamed but I rescued him. He didn't nap well all day maybe due to his shots but he slept like a 'baby' that night, went to bed at 8 30 woke up at 1 45 to eat went right back to sleep until 6 45 wow, if only every night was that good. (actually he is a pretty good sleeper at night.)
Kieran is becoming quit stylish, notice his mother of pearl button, cowboy shirt, just like his daddy's, he is going to be a little mini Johnathan.

A little monster

We found out that Costco, not only is good for a free meal but, also has some cute little babies outfits for cheap these Mackenzie picked out and Kieran looked adorable in. He was alittle monster one day and a lion the next.

Liam comes to stay

Two of my sisters Janice, and her little boy Liam and Genevieve came last weekend. It was fun to have them stay with us for a few days. We had fun, ate well and they did a little shopping. it was fun to have the two little boys together, they are about 6 months apart. In a few years though that will be nothing and they will be playing together. Liam will be his closest cousin in age unless, Kim, Catherine or Kirsten have any news. Liam is cute and enjoyed seeing what this new moving object was. Kieran was also able to get a little spoiled by his Aunties, they even babysat for us one night so we could go out to Dinner(we wished some family lived closer, you can trust them with your firstborn etc). Thank you for coming to visit, bring Jade and Jory.

Great Grandma Rosie.

Two doors down the street there is a little old lady, I won't tell you how old she is but she was born in 1920. Her name is Rosie and she is in our ward-(local congregation of church members). Mackenzie has started visiting her a few times a week, she just adores Kieran and loves to pat his little legs. She is really sweet and we feel bad that she is all alone. She has children but does not get to see them often. We have kind of made her an adoptive Great-Grandma. Mackenzie says when she goes over there in the day she will just talk and talk, and stare at little Kieran. She is as sharp as an arrow and still mows her lawn every Tuesday, yes I did offer she won't let me, she says it's her exercise. I'll have to take a picture, she pushes around this huge mower almost as big as her. They are opening and huge new 99 cent store(which put the Greenbacks all a Dollar to shame) in a few days and the other day she told Mackenzie she can't wait so she can walk over there and do some shopping cause she is too old to drive. Last night we came home quite late, 9:30 pm and we always look in her window to she if she is about, sure enough she was sitting there watching TV, with her front door wide open, shame. We started talking and came to the conclusion that, that has to be one of our biggets fears growing old alone.
P.S. she payed 10,000 for her house 50 something years ago its now valued at about 750,000. Not a bad investment.

HOO HOO/WOO WOO/WHOO WHOO

How ever you would say it, Mackenzie finished her cute paintings for Kierans room. There will be more, but these are the first. They look really good up on his wall above his dresser.

Tooting in the Tub

Yes it's true babies do fart in the bath tub as well. The other morning Mackenzie was giving Kieran a bath in his rain forest tub and he got this really confused look on his face, then kicked his legs and let out a little toot, that bubbeled the water a little bit. He love his baths, and crys when we take him out. He just sits there and kicks his chubby legs and coos. He also loves tummy-time usually on his Hippo. He makes some of his best faces when he is on his tummy looking around.

Pancakes and Surfing

My sister Janice who enjoys a delicious treat every once in a while, (my other sister genevieve is also coming, and enjoys food but not as much as horseriding)as I said is coming into town, and as such we decided it prudent to check out a place that we would go eat breakfast at on Saturday when they are here and boy did we find it. The Original Pancake House. I have three letters for you WOW. They have about 20 different kinds of pancakes from Sourdough to Maple Cinnamon to Coconut-Pineapple.They have crepes that are so big they look like rolled up sleeping bags. Now i know what your thinking, it's not just the plates are huge, they are delicious. It is always packed, we went with some of our friends, only had to wait about 20 minutes to get in, well worth the wait. Sorry no pictures i'll take some this weekend for sure, so you can witness the joy.
After stuffing ourselves we went down to the Hermosa Beach Pier for the International Surf Fest, a series of contests, with life guard contests as well, notice Kieran's Hurley outfit appropriately dressed. The Australians won those though I believe. You may not know this but Redondo Beach where we live is the birthplace of Surfing on the mainland, yes it's true the Hawaiians influenced an Irish sailor by the name of George Freeth in 1907. He also introduced the game of Water Polo to the Sates and designed the "torpedo shaped" life guard buoy used by life guards the world over to this day. Come and see us and we'll take you for pancakes and to see his statue. Notice the little Asian Lady with her umbrella, it was not raining, nor was it sunny? It kind of looks like she is a fairy and its an umbrella from a pina colada, use your imagination.

Manny Mania

Manny Ramirez, yeah we going all the way now. We went to the Dodger game last Thursday. They did lose to the Diamondbacks but, the next morning It was announced that Manny Rameriz, was leaving the Red Socks and coming to the Dodgers. For those of you who don't know about him he plays baseball and is rather good great fielder and even better hitter, future Hall of Fame good. He is extremelley cocky but hey he can be.
The game was fun, Kieran love it too. I can't wait to take him to games when he is older and knows what is going on. it's fun living in a city were there are lots of sporting events and other activities going on, we always have something fun to do.

A new Toy/Tool

After almost 3 good years we have had to say goodbye to our ibook. The good news is we got to say hello to our new computer, an iMac. We love it already, it is really cool and we are learning new things about it everyday. It came with a free, well send in a rebate and get, a free 8GB Nano not bad. It is going to be great for my pictures and blogging of course.

A good set of lungs!

They say crying helps a babies lungs develop, and strengthen. Kieran's lungs, just double in size then and increased drastically in strength. He has really become very alert lately, along with that he has become a more fussy at times. And when he is fussy he wants the whole street, ward, store to know. He is even cute when he crys though. he hates being held, and rocked to sleep, he prefers to just lay there and fall asleep himself. Try and pick him up and he'll pitch a fit. He has started to suck his thumb, he can't always straighten it out, so he gets so frustrated, and growls. He reminds me of my parents sausage dog Susie, gnawing on a toy that just quite won't sit still. He is getting even cuter. We were looking at some pictures from the past 2 months and he is growing so fast. Mackenzie is sad, she's had to pack away some of his clothes already. We'll have to have another just to get our moneys worth out of them. My sister's Janice and Genevieve are coming this weekend with Liam, we are excited for them to meet our little bundle, and give his chubby thighs a squeeze.

5.4

I experienced my first Earthquake, and yes it was actually quite scary. Not being from California, I had only heard about these earthquakes and you always think, oh it can't be too bad. Take it from me when you are on the 3rd story of a 7 floor hospital, it can be rather scary. I was working with one of my reps in the about 15-20 miles from the epicenter, and we were standing in the lobby of an obgyn's office. The ground started shaking, which is really a weird sensation. It felt like a really bumpy elevator, but the whole building shook. One of the nurses yelled "earthquake" and we all darted into the stairwell, apparently the whole doorway thing is overrated. It lasted about 30 seconds then we evacuated the building. At least I can say I have felt my first California quake, 5.4 not bad. The best was I called Mackenzie, to see if she was okay and to let her know I was fine. She responded "what we had an earthquake"
