Becks and Dodger Game

My parents came in town over the weekend to meet Rhys and visit us. Kieran sure was excited to have some playmates staying with us for a few days. And he enjoyed waking grandma up every morning at 6am, and I enjoyed letting him play with her instead of me in the early morning.

Saturday afternoon we went to a Dodger game. My mom and Rhys's first professional baseball game.

Kieran has been really into baseball lately and loves watching it on TV. It is so cute he will be watching a game and it will go to a commercial and he will get sad, and whinny and say watch baseball, watch baseball. So he was really exited for the game.

We tried to get the boys together for one picture before church but Kieran had a little attitude. So here they are separate.

Weekend of Fun

We found out the military had big tanks and helicopters set up at the mall and thought we would check it out for Kieran. Kieran was so excited when we told him where we were going. Once we got there he was still excited at first, but when we got close and tried to get him to go inside one of the tanks he didn't think that was a good idea. I guess they are a little intimidating when you are as small as he is.


He did however like this smaller jeep and wanted to go inside.



After seeing all the tanks we headed to Buffalo Wild Wings where we enjoyed some tasty wings and watched a little baseball.


Saturday morning we went to Oxnard for the annual Strawberry Festival. We had never been, but had heard about it. The traffic was worse than expected, but it was still worth the drive. They had rides set up for the kids, music, activities, and food, lots of food. There was Strawberry popcorn, and strawberry beer, and chocolate covered strawberries, and my favorite strawberry shortcake.

We watched a puppet show and if you look close you will notice Kieran has his hands covering his face. It was so cute he was like that the whole time peaking through his fingers. I don't know if he was nervous or what.

And Rhys was a good little boy and slept the whole time we were there.


Of course we bought a whole lot of strawberries to bring home and eat. And what do you know the birds love them to. They pretty much devoured the whole strawberry we gave them and both their faces were, well still are covered with strawberries.

BIRDIES

Meet the newest addition to the Brandon Household. Sunshine and Petey. Two male parakeets. Kieran saw one at our friends house and loved it and kept saying 'please daddy', 'daddy please'. It was two cute not to give in. And I thought it would be nice for him to have a little pet.

Well I have been on my own for a week now, and I am really missing all the help I had with Johnathan's parents and sister. Not only are they good company, and much appriciated. They were a GREAT help as well, cooking, cleaning, playing with Kieran, holding Rhys. We had a good time and I hated to see them leave.

OUCH

After a skateboard accident and an accidental scratch from a friend, Kieran's face was left looking like this.....poor thing!

And then this morning, I took him and Rhys to the park while Johnathan was at a church service project and he fell while trying eagerly to pet some dogs and "bit" the park bench. He hit it so hard he knocked his two front teeth back up halfway into their sockets. His Lip was so swollen it looked like it was stuck between his two front teeth. It was bleeding and looked really sore poor thing. I called Johnathan, a little freaked out, he called our good friend Jim(oral surgeon, and cranial facial surgeon) we went over to his house and he looked at them and said they would be fine they are baby teeth, and he is young enough that although they were shoved back up, they would not effect his adult teeth buds. They may come back done a bit, and they already this evening look a little better, but for now Kieran looks like he has very short two front teeth, with one tilted slightly back. It will only be for the next 4 yrs or so though. The only funny thing was watching him all day make weird faces, as he was moving his jaws around exploring his new bite. He is one tough little sucker - takes after his accident prone Dad. Johnathan is always for some strange reason proud of all the bones he has broken(over 10) and all the stitches and staples(over 150). I have never broken a bone, nor had stitches.

Kieran will sit by Rhys and be sweet, then suddenly he is over it and will push Rhys over, like he did moments after these pictures were taken. Overall he is doing pretty good with the change, but I have had TONS of help, thanks to my in-laws. One more day and I am on my own. Wish me luck.

Notice his hand to your left is dirty from eating and he is holding it out waiting for a wipe. After he eats he says ewwhh dirty hands, and wants them cleaned right away.
The hand to your right, or more specifically his finger, is pointing at Johnathan shouting NO. Another thing he likes to shout and say frequently with his finger pointed at you.

He sure is a handful but I love him to pieces.
