Johnathan's birthday was on the 1st of September and to celebrate he decided he wanted a cupcake party/contest. It was so much fun. A lot of people came. There was about 14 cupcake entries and they were all delicious. They weren't your average cake box cupcakes either, they were Martha Stewart quality. Johnathan even make certificates for the winners and a little trophy made out of a mini whisk.

Johnathan's coconut cupcakes
The winning cupcake made by Jessica Olsen
My embarrassing disaster. I tried to make a giant carrot cupcake but when I put them together the top slid off the bottom so it tasted good but looked like a wreck.
Dishing out the root beer floats
Adrienne and Lyla
Cole downing a cupcake
The kids playing
Tasting all the good stuff
Johnathan with the trophies he made waiting to present them to the winners
Jessica Olsen got Best in Show for her Strawberry cupcakes
Kate Spjute got Best Design for her peanut butter chocolate cupcakes
Caroline Gonzales got Most Original for her cupcake pops
It was a really fun night. Maybe we will make it a tradition for his birthday.

That's a fun idea. You guys should host a party at our house. We are terrible when it comes to social things. I wish we were better.
